AIEEE 2008 ANALYSIS, MARKS DISTRIBUTION ETC

This year winners in AIEEE would be clearly those who have done their Physics paper well. It is very evident that Physics paper is relatively difficult compared to mathematics and chemistry. Physics paper has many questions that are tricky and students with good insight into the subject can only do them well. Many students must have found it difficult to answer questions based on a paragraph from electron diffraction as most of the students do not focus on this part of the subject and the question based on a paragraph in electricity were also challenging. There were few questions on practical physics.

The number of questions only 35 in each section) gives an impression that there is enough time for the student to attempt many questions, but few questions( at least 10) in Physics were not the usual run of the mill questions and they would compel the students to think hard and come out with solutions. There were 2 or 3 questions with statement 1 and statement 2 which are similar to assertion and reasoning questions of IIT-JEE. There was no question from communicating systems that is included in the syllabus for AIEEE.

This year Mathematics was not that difficult although there were five questions with statement 1 and statement 2 similar to that of  assertion and reasoning questions in IIT-JEE. There were 2 questions on mathematical logic and most of the questions were straight and should be easy to any student who has prepared well. Chemistry paper seems to be the simplest of the three. There was only one question from Practical Chemistry. The three parts of chemistry have more or less equal weightage and there were few questions on general chemistry. Few questions which were difficult had clues in the answer choices.
